Manual harvest and selection of the grapes; destemming followed by slow must fermentation at a controlled temperature and gentle agitation of the must in stainless steel tanks; malolactic fermentation and aging in big wooden barrels for 7-10 months.
Terlan Pinot Noir comes from grapes grown in vineyards above the village, particularly on the Monticolo plateau, where they can take advantage of sunny southern exposure and cool evenings with constant ventilation. After manual harvesting is complete, the grapes are destemmed and fermented at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. The wine then matures for a period of 7-10 months in large barrels. The colour is bright and brilliant ruby red. The nose opens with elegant aromas of currant, blackberry, blueberry, hints of underbrush, and nuances of liquorice root. It has a medium structure on the palate, with complex and delicate aromas that lengthen harmoniously towards a finish of lively freshness characterized by a crisp mineral vein. Refined and subtle, it is a Pinot Noir all about aromatic facets and a lightness of sip.
