Le Ragnaie Troncone offers generosity in concentration of aroma and flavor. Notes of cranberry and cherry abound with laurel leaves and wet stones on the nose. The palate extends with bright red fruit. This 14 year old organically farmed sangiovese was native fermented and on skins for 2 weeks in concrete, before one year in older Slavonian oak casks. Alluring from first whiff, with salted cherry, fragrant raspberry, worked leather and dried scrubby herbs stretching across a lifted palate, framed with firm, fine tannins, and buoyed by effortless lofty acidity, finishing with a flush of peppery spice. There’s such a lovely ease and grace to this medium bodied youthful wine. Enjoy liberally.
