So pretty and floral, the 2018 NeroSanloré captivates with sweet rose and violet tones before giving way to spiced citrus, dried strawberries and hints of wood smoke. Its silky textures coat the palate with polished red and black fruits, as saline-infused minerals saturate, creating tension toward the close. A web of fine tannins grip the senses throughout the finale, while the 2018 manages to maintain marvelous freshness and gorgeous flowery perfumes. The Nerosanloré vineyard lies only 700 meters from the sea and at only 10-15 meters above sea level. In 2018, it’s the star of Gulfi’s single-vineyard Nero d’Avola lineup.

The 2018 NeroSanloré shows bitter cherry and plum, and the wine has a bit of grit and extra density that comes with extended skin maceration and 24 months of aging in tonneaux. Beyond the dark cherry aromas are delicate mineral nuances and earthy tones. There is some sour fruit on the close, and the wine maintains a fresh and very lively character throughout. Only 6,400 bottles were produced.
