描述
Granato
Grapes and pomegranate have common origins and are often found growing together in the
Mediterranean basin. The pomegranate fruit also possesses the charm, beauty and intensity of grapes. It is thanks to this union that the name ‘Granato’ derives, the name of a Teroldego of a particular concentration and density that sinks its roots into the stones of the three vineyards in Campo Rotaliano.
Name of wine: Granato – Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT
Grape: Teroldego
Vineyard location: Old pergola vines in Campo Rotaliano, Mezzolombardo
Hectares: 4 hectares, across three varied plots
Terroir: Alluvial, gravel and pebble
Fermentation and fining: Large open vats, 15 months in tonneau
Annual production: 20.000 bottles
This is a beautiful organic and biodynamic wine from Trentino in the far north of Italy. A pure expression of the native Teroldego grape, the Foradori 2019 Granato opens to an inky dark appearance with little light penetration. The bouquet takes a few moments before it fully opens, but once it does, you get dark plum and blackberry followed by cola, licorice and black rose. This richly concentrated red offers great depth and momentum.
