描述

91-94  Burghound

Prominent oak frames cool but ripe spicy red and black cherry and earth aromas that can also be found on the rich, sleekly muscular and broad-scaled flavors that are powerful and driving on the strikingly intense finish that is chewy but not aggressive and blessed with impressive balance. Note however that this is a very firm ’08 and will not be a precocious drinker, at least not if you’re interested in seeing its full potential.

93  Wine Advocate

The 2008 Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru is beginning to drink beautifully, bursting from the glass with a perfumed bouquet of peonies, blood orange, wild berries, plums and smoked duck, framed by a nicely integrated touch of spicy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, supple and satiny, with melting tannins and a bright spine of acidity, it concludes with a long, sapid finish. (WK)

Alluring rose, black currant, cherry and sandalwood aromas and flavors highlight this elegant red, which has finesse, but also saturates the palate with its fruit and spice, picking up a mineral element on the aftertaste. (BS)
