antoine graillot and raul perez encinas collaborated in 2016 to produce a wine called “el medico” under the label of “bodegas y viñedos raúl pérez”. the wine is made from 100% mencía grapes, which are grown in the bierzo region of northwest spain. antoine graillot is a french winemaker, who is well-known for producing high-quality wines in the northern rhône region of france. he has also worked in other wine regions such as australia and spain. raul perez encinas is a spanish winemaker who is recognized for his work with mencía, godello and albariño grapes in the bierzo and rias baixas regions of spain. he has been awarded numerous accolades for his wines, and is considered one of spain’s most talented winemakers. the collaboration between graillot and perez encinas for “el medico” was highly anticipated, as it combined the expertise of two renowned winemakers from different countries. the wine was well-received by critics, with many praising its complexity and balance of flavors.
